The doctors at Oakhaven Health DPC are non-network providers for Tricare. This means we do not bill Tricare for our services, and our membership fees are paid directly by the patient.
Because we do not have a contract with the Department of Defense, our focus remains entirely on you—not on meeting government coding metrics or navigating the "referral dance" just to get you 15 minutes of a doctor's time.
Even though we are not in-network, you can still utilize your Tricare benefits for the "big" expenses outside of our office.
Prescriptions: You can continue to use your Tricare pharmacy benefits (including Express Scripts or local base pharmacies). While Oakhaven offers an in-house pharmacy with wholesale pricing that is often cheaper than a co-pay, we will always send your prescriptions wherever it is most cost-effective for you.
Laboratory Services: When we order blood work, you can take those orders to any Tricare-authorized lab (like Quest or LabCorp). They will bill Tricare directly just as they always have.
Imaging & Diagnostics: Tricare still covers X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans performed at outside imaging centers. You maintain full use of your benefits for these services.
Specialist Care: * Tricare Select/Reserve Select/TFL: You can generally see specialists directly. We coordinate your care and send our notes to your specialists to ensure a seamless experience.
Tricare Prime: Prime requires a referral from your assigned Primary Care Manager (PCM) for specialist coverage. While we can provide the care you need, Prime members may still need to contact their assigned military PCM to "pro-forma" a referral for outside specialty consultations to be covered. Your Oakhaven doctor can provide notes to your PCM when you need it.
