• Plans with lower IUA and higher IUA amounts are available from Zion. For this illustration the plan closest pricing and out-of-pocket expense when compared to to the health insurance plans was selected for illustrative comparison purposes.

• Pre-existing conditions that occurred within 2 years of signing up for Zion Healthshare are not covered for the first 12 months and then are covered up certain amounts per year. Under the ACA laws, the health insurance plans cannot exclude certain coverage on the basis of pre-existing conditions.

• IUA is the Initial Unshareable Amount per sharing request. This is not comparable to a copay. You and your immediate family on the plan are responsible for 3 IUA's per year.

• Zion Healthshare has a service where if you know of an upcoming medical expense that qualifies, you can submit a request in advance and they will prepay the medical provider the amount minus the outstanding IUA. You can also opt to pay directly and then turn in a sharing request afterwards.
