We offer incredible value for those who are members at Oakhaven Health DPC. Most of our patients are members and enjoy concierge-like access to doctors. They do not have to pay fees on a per visit or per service basis. Additionally, for higher cost items on our price tags list, they get a $249 per incident discount, which is an amazing value. All of this and more for less than a simple office visit would cost. With all of that, if you are resolute on directly paying as you go, we have options for you.
Service Statements
As a Direct Pay Patient, after your visit at checkout you will either be emailed or printed a service statement indicating the billing codes and total cost for the visit. We will also provide a summary of your visit including diagnosis codes. These are the basic elements needed by most private insurance companies to give deductible credit and possible partial reimbursement for out of network services. Keep in mind that we are out of network providers and there is no guarantee that your private insurance company will honor their contract with you. We do not control that factor and it will be your responsibility to deal with them if they give you grief.
Verified Credit Card on File
You must have a valid credit card on file as well as a photo id. A non-refundable registration fee of $25 will be charged to your card before your first appointment will be scheduled. This offsets our costs for enrolling a new patient and let's us verify your form of payment.
Prepayment for Services
When you call to schedule your first appointment you will consult with a medical assistant or nurse who will provide a good faith estimate for your first visit, based on your description about why you need to be seen. Prepayment will be required just before that visit starts. If during the visit the scope of your visit increases due to things not disclosed to the medical assistant or nurse during scheduling, additional fees will be charged at checkout. Payment for all services is required before leaving for Direct Pay Patients.
Option to Convert $249 of Your Visit Costs to a Membership
At the time of your checkout you can opt to have your fees converted to a prepaid membership instead of continuing as a Direct Pay Patient. Up to $249 of your visit cost can be converted into prepaid membership, which would then be excluded from your direct pay service statement.
Hypothetical Reason to Convert to a Membership
Let's say hypothetically your private insurance reimburses 50% for out-of-network care and your visit comes to $400. You will pay $400 at checkout and get reimbursed $200 if your insurance company plays by their own rules and does not play twisted games with you. If all goes well you have spent a total of $200. If you get sick next month and have another visit, it could cost another $200+ and involve more paperwork for you to file and follow-up on.
If instead you can have $249 applied toward your membership and if you were at our $85 tier, you would get a paid service invoice for the remaining $151 that could still be put onto a statement to turn in to insurance. $249 would cover your membership for almost 3 months. You would not have to worry about the additional cost if you get sick during those 3 months and need a primary care visit. Additionally, you will gain all of the benefits of a being a member including access to the members-only discounted pharmacy, discounted labs, free EKG, and special imaging pricing.
